Medical Acupuncture / Dry Needling

A treatment using sterile needles where NO solution is injected. Needles are tapped into trigger points within muscles to reduce pain.

How does it work?
When the needle is inserted, it will send information up the nerve(s) that supply that particular muscle. This will send messages to the brain stem and will inhibit the pain receptors by releasing natural chemicals like endorphins.

Clients can expect to feel referred pain (pain felt somewhere other than the site of the needle), muscle twitch (where you feel the muscle ‘jump’) or may feel nothing at all.

Medical Acupuncture is one of the safest treatments on offer in the UK. Many Physiotherapists now use this technique to compliment their treatment.

  • The main benefit is pain relief
  • Dry needling is used for musculo-skeletal pain and can help conditions such as Tennis/Golfer’s elbow, cervical pain from whiplash/headaches, joint pain, sciatica and Achilles tendonitis
